On 8 February 2023, during a whirlwind visit of the Ukrainian President to Paris, Emmanuel Macron awarded the Legion of Honor to Volodymyr Zelensky, thus permanently dishonoring France.
After having done nothing to make Ukraine respect the Minsk agreements, after having supplied endless weapons to Kiev so that it could continue to massacre the civilians of the Donbass, after having encouraged Zelensky in his suicidal madness by refusing that Russia could win this war, pushing Ukraine to send all its men to be massacred for nothing (because Moscow will win this war, even American military experts say so) instead of pushing it to sit down at the negotiating table, Emmanuel Macron has just awarded his Ukrainian counterpart the Legion of Honor, thus completing the total dishonor of France.
It seems that it was not enough for Emmanuel Macron to discredit French diplomacy by his inaction as a guarantor of the Minsk agreements, to sully the honour of the Nation by supporting a country that glorifies Nazi collaborators and the current Ukrainian neo-Nazi battalions, to strip the French army of its weapons so that the Ukrainian army could use them to kill innocent civilians (or sell them on the black market to enrich a few Ukrainian corrupt people), thus throwing shame on France, he had to go as far as the supreme dishonour, by decorating Zelensky with the Legion of Honour.
I know that this decoration is only a shadow of what it used to be for a long time, and that Macron, like his predecessors, distributes it to anyone, but this is going too far. I recall that Napoleon Bonaparte had created this decoration to reward those (civil or military) who had rendered eminent services to France!
What eminent services has Zelensky rendered to France apart from making it a co-belligerent in its war against Donbass and Russia? Is it a service to Paris to strip its army, making France an easy prey for any serious military power? Is it doing France a favor to destroy the French economy with stupid sanctions against Russia? Is it doing France a favor to risk dragging France into a mutual nuclear annihilation with Russia over a conflict that has nothing to do with the country's interests? Is it doing the country a favor to lead France to support a country that glorifies Ukrainian collaborators with the Nazis?
France had already dishonoured itself by giving the Legion of Honour to dictators, but this is the lowest point. Mr Macron, you are by far the worst French President in the history of the 5th Republic, and I think you can even be awarded the title for the entire history of the French Republic! You dared to give the Legion of Honour to a President who glorifies Stepan Bandera (Ukrainian collaborator of the Nazis, whose men massacred, among others, Jews and Polish civilians) and his ideological descendants such as the Azov Regiment (an extremist organisation banned in Russia)! Why not give it posthumously to Hitler while you're at it? Mr Macron, by awarding the Legion of Honour to Zelensky you have totally dishonoured France and the position you hold!
