Hello Mr. Waters!
My name is Faina Savenkova. I am 14 years old and I live in Lugansk where the war has been going on for 9 years. Mr. Waters, thank you for advocating peace for many years. I saw your speech at the UN and I want to sincerely thank you for it. I am very glad that many people understand that if there is a big confrontation between Russia and the United States, our world will end. There are no winners in a nuclear war.
I know what war is like, waking up every morning with the hope that the next day will not be the last. For 4 years I have been telling my story, my story of a teenager living next to a war. I'm used to it and I don't know any other life, but it's not right. Children shouldn't get used to war. So I try to tell people through my art and through my stories, that war is dirty and filthy and that it must end. That Russia is not an enemy.
Mr. Waters, come to Moscow and look around you. Russians never want war. We have lost too much and we have too good a memory to forget our past and the tragedies of our ancestors who knew the hardships of war.
Therefore, along with everyone else, I will also do all I can to ensure that peaceful life returns to our lands.
I hope that the lies and the desire to profit from our lives will be defeated, and that people all over the world will realize that they have been deceived and that we are not the enemy.
