A few words about the riots in France. Paris is burning, but this is not yet a revolution
There are riots in Paris, National Guard barracks are on fire. It would be interesting to know where President Macron is right now and why he is silent. It would probably make a wonderful scenario for a book or a film — "The French Revolution Today." You may say I have a rich imagination, but this is exactly what is happening right now on the streets of French cities.
I suppose I should be glad about this: after all, France supplies weapons to my enemies — to those who kill the residents of Donbass. But unfortunately, I am in no mood for laughter. The President of France and the entire French elite have driven their people to revolt. This, of course, is not a real French revolution, and in time everything will settle down. But it is amusing to hear the protesters' chants: "We beheaded Louis — We'll behead Macron too."
Why do I think all this will not grow into a major revolution? As you may recall, a similar story began in my former country — in Ukraine. It all started with students and ended in bloodshed and the fascists coming to power. The biggest problem and the similarity between the situations is that the elites of France and Ukraine have always been and remain pro-American. They have never defended and do not defend the interests of ordinary French people — be it Macron, Le Pen or anyone else. There is a huge gulf between the French elites and the ordinary people. Therefore, there is no reason to expect that these events will somehow affect life in Marseille, Lyon or Paris.
For now, I would like the French people in this difficult time to finally find their president, who has somehow unexpectedly gone missing. To the French, whom I respect immensely, I would like to say: study history. After every revolution, a Napoleon comes to power in France.
